MacKenzie is a first-generation college student in her third year at Portland State University pursuing her bachelor’s degree in health service administration. She currently works in the Biology Education Research Lab at Portland State University, and her research interest consist of learning more about how students from different backgrounds participate and learn in the STEM fields. Her future academic goals include continuing on to graduate school to research health policy and health disparities.
